These Terms govern your use of Veloda Note. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these Terms.

The service

Veloda Note is free to use today. We may introduce paid features in the future; any such features will be clearly marked and optional, and these Terms will be updated accordingly before they launch.

Zero-knowledge encryption — please read this

Veloda Note encrypts your notes on your own device using a key derived from your password. We never have access to your password, your Recovery Key, or your unencrypted notes. This means:

If you forget your password, your Recovery Key (shown once at sign-up) is the only way back in.
If you lose both your password and your Recovery Key, your notes cannot be recovered by us or by anyone else. There is no "reset" we can perform on your data — we simply do not hold the key.
It is your responsibility to keep your Recovery Key somewhere safe.

Your account

You're responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity under your account. You may delete your account and all associated data permanently at any time from within the app.

Acceptable use

Use Veloda Note for your own personal notes. Don't attempt to interfere with the service, probe it for vulnerabilities without permission, or use it in a way that violates applicable law.

Availability

The app is provided "as is." We aim for high availability but do not guarantee the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may update, change, or discontinue features over time.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Veloda and its developer are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the app, including loss of notes due to a forgotten password and Recovery Key as described above.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
